Andy Pettitte Is Cajun For "God In The Second Half"

andy letting out a breath of relief as he exits the game with a leadI haven’t slept all week, thanks to stay up until 1 or 2am to watch the Yankees lose. Or, in the case of last night, watch Andy Pettitte be awesome. Which is no surprise because he’s an awesome stopper, and an awesome second half pitcher. And just plain awesome. Sometimes, it’s worth it to be tired so that you can go to bed happy.

The most amazing thing about last night is that Mike Scioscia did something stupid, which very rarely happens. He put John Lackey in for the top of the 8th, which allowed the Yankees to really get ahead. I understand that Lackey probably asked to be put in, but he was already slipping and it was a bad move. He only lasted one batter, but it set the tone and the Yankees padded their lead for Joba Chamberlain to come in for the bottom of the 8th.

His next start is against some Japanese guy playing for the Red Sox, but I’m not thinking that far ahead because today I am both happy and exhausted.
