Fact Checking Is Your Friend

From Jeff Passan’s column about Josh Beckett (where he really reaches to argue that Beckett is, at this moment, in the same class as John Smoltz, Whitey Ford and Sandy Kofax in the realm of post season pitchers…in a few years this might be true but let’s not jump the gun since this is only his second year in the playoffs):
He has thrown three shutouts, including one in Game 7 of the 2003 World Series, and is 5-2 with a 1.78 earned-run average. His teams have never lost a playoff series.
Apparently it’s very hard to type “2003 World Series” into a search bar, because last I checked it only went to six games. It’s hard to take a guy’s writing seriously when he can’t even fact check before the article is published.
