While searching around the internet for votes I missed in my big old round-up I came across Mr Corky Simpson.

I don’t mean to be cruel to an old man (he is 88!) but how can you leave Rickey Henderson off your ballot?
I did some additional research and found that he’s listed as a member of the BBWAA writing for the Tuscon Citizen (thank you, Diamondbacks media guide). Corky Simpson is the man who infamously voted Alabama #1 every week in the NCAAF poll but I can’t tell if it’s the same guy. I admittedly didn’t know why that was a huge deal but I found this in an old CNNSI mailbag:
Who knows? If the Bulldogs win it all, Waddell could be a latter-day version of Corky Simpson, the AP football voter who chose Alabama No. 1 every week of the 1992 season. Not one other voter picked the Crimson Tide No. 1 that year — until Alabama upset Miami in the Sugar Bowl to win the national title.
The funny thing? The legendary Simpson was (and still is) a columnist for the Tucson Citizen, home paper of the currently No. 1-ranked Arizona Wildcats
I don’t think he’s right about not voting for Rickey, however. The worst thing is that there’s not even any fun reasoning, it’s just sort of there:
Others honored with nomination this year and who may well be voted into the Hall of Fame, include Harold Baines, Jay Bell, David Cone, Ron Gant, Mark Grace, Rickey Henderson, Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, Jesse Orosco, Dave Parker, Dan Plesac, Lee smith, Greg Vaughn and Mo Vaughn.
Oh, ok. I guess Rickey Henderson may well be voted into the Hall of Fame. That’s cool.
