The Cheapest Ticket I Will Ever Purchase

The Yankees put a bunch of tickets for the Cubs exhibition games up for sale Wednesday. I don’t really know where these came from as it’s been “sold out” for a while, but that’s unimportant (it’s probably tickets they were holding back for Cubs season holders). What is important is the special prices they announced for the exhibition game–the 25 cent bleacher and $1.10 Grandstand tickets.

Yeah, yeah all the other seating was reduced in price as well. I didn’t care about that, I’ve spent $50 to sit on the Field and Main levels before those were a discount price. Plus I am somewhat of a cheap bastard and didn’t want to pay very much for an exhibition game. It’s not real baseball, and I’m not interested in paying real baseball prices.

In any case, while I couldn’t get two of these mythical cheap seats together I did manage to pull up one for myself for the Saturday game. Ticketmaster was kind enough to waive the fee per seat but still manage to make a big chunk of change (comparatively) on each they sold:

cheap ticket, not cheap fees

I assume it was the same fee for the 25 cent bleachers.

Still the cheapest ticket I’ve gotten (not counting freebies from friends and the Staten Island Yankees of course). Not by much but there you have it.
