From Marc Carig of the Star-Ledger (who you should follow on Twitter):
Two things to take away from this:
- Andy is tough as nails. We sort of already knew this but it needs to be acknowledged again. That’s ridiculous, to pitch through that and pitch as well as he did in both of his turns during the playoffs.
- He might actually really retire this time.
Andy has always said he is going to do what is best for his family, and that is the number one consideration when he determines to come back every year but if he feels he is unable to stay healthy for a full year there is a real chance that he will bow out gracefully. Who can blame him for that?
I’m choosing not to think about it beyond being in awe of his condition plus performance for a few weeks.
