Getting too excited increases my already high blood pressure. Because of this, I can’t watch most big sports events live. I never watch those epic Nadal-Federer finals live (I’m a huge Nadal fan). Only if my favourite player/team wins, I watch the replays later.

But “a Mariano in decline” was an interesting remark. He has been striking out more and walking less than he has done last few years. Most importantly, he has been giving up very few home runs this season. Only his BABiP is higher than ever before. Maybe that is due to his cutter being less effective. But the fastball has been excellent. So, I’m not sure if the decline perception is correct.
